I've now added monthly archives. Hopefully it works. Blogger seems ... nonintuitive at times. So much for easy interfaces for the nongeek. I've had to tweak it to make it work thus far -- nongeeks must have a hell of a time with it.

Good god it's been a long time since I updated my blog. So much for good intentions.
I note that on 4/13/01 I was happy to report that my column at BYTE was saved from the axe. Again, so much for good intentions. As next month, my column will be canned--though I'm not alone in that fate. Only a few people left there as regular columnists, plus Jerry, of course. I see the end in sight, possibly before next quarter. It looks like one of the oldest computer/technology magazines is being slowly dismembered (deconstructed?) until there will be nothing left. Whether this is part of the downturn of the journalism world, dotcom world, tech world, or just plain the work of the new group overseeing BYTE, I couldn't say. But it's a shame.
